Microbiological Characteristics of Technogenically Affected Meadow Cinnamonic Soils
G. Petkova, I. Atanasova, M. Harizanova
Abstract: The microflora of two profiles of Meadow Cinnamonic Soil (Urbic Garbic Mollic Technosols, Calcaric Humic Siltic), slightly waterlogged subjected to antropogenic-technogenic impact (deposition of sludge from the treatment of industrial waste water and presence of artifacts due to deposition of soil layers on top) and of a natural soil from the same region was studied. It was established that as a result of the treatment substantial changes in the quantity and distribution of the microorganisms
through the soil profile occurred. These data indicate that different biogeochemical processes take place in the antropogenically-technogenically affected soils as compared with those of the undisturbed soil.
