Monitoring of Chemical Characteristics in Soils from Bobov dol Valley

Abstract: This paper presents results of monitoring research in the soils close to Thermal Power Plant “Bobov dol”. The aim is to determine the changes in soil sorption capacity and soil acidity. The data obtained from research confirm that typical for the region Luvisols have good sorption properties. Reclaimed Technosols show low soil sorption capacity. The results show that there is no significant change in the chemical properties in surface horizon of the soils close to TPP “Bobov dol”, despite long period of operation and deposition of coal ash.
