Analysis of the Results of the Application of Measure 214 Agroecology Payments Supervision of the Soil Erosion and the Erosion Control Measures in the Rural Development Programme 2007-2014
Diyana Nekova
Abstract: The article presents an analysis of the results of the application of Measure 214 from the Rural Development Programme 2007 - 2014. It shows the basic measures concerning agroecology and more specifically it describes the measures undertaken to control the soil erosion during the new scheduled period. The data used is officially provided by State Fund Agriculture.
The analysis shows that the areas declared to support measure „Control over soil erosion” are only 0.3% of the total arable land in Bulgaria. Eight regions did not declare any acreage for anti-erosion protection. Most of the declarations for anti-erosion practices are Improving pastures. Highly effective anti-erosion practices, such as strip cropping, grass buffer strips, pre-crop for green mass and others, are not included in any projects or realization plans.
